Back by popular demand, the SPFSA Travel Program will be conducting goaltender training for all travel and IC teams. The SPFSA Travel Program goalie training director, Mike Walch, in an effort to improve the already high level training, has conducted a survey to determine what changes can be made to the goalie training program.
For the Fall 2007 season, both full-sided and small-sided goalie training will be conducted jointly and will run for the duration of the ’07 season. Goalie training will begin Saturday, April 19th @ 10:00 am @ the VoTech field.
New this season, a goalie specific "mini-topic" will be discussed. Some of the "mini-topics" to be discussed: Defending a penalty kick; Setting up a wall; Defending a corner kick; Where to stand depending on the where the ball in on the field, etc.

The coaches from each team will determine who from each team will attend the training each week. If you’ve been selected to attend the training, please make every effort to arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Please come prepared with a soccer ball, shinguards, cleats and water.
