The Scotch Plains Fanwood Soccer Association awards up to five scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,500 annually. These scholarships are available to qualified applicants who are residents of Scotch Plains or Fanwood and who have participated in the House, Inter-County or Travel soccer programs for a minimum of three years. Applicants must be seniors who plan to enroll as full-time undergraduate degree students at an accredited college or University.

 

Application forms may be obtained from the SPFHS counseling office and should be accompanied by a personal letter explaining how the applicants’ soccer experience has influenced their life. Basic dates of participation, names of teams and coaches and personal anecdotes are helpful. Applicants must also arrange for the counseling office to forward a copy of their transcript and SAT scores to the SPFSA with the inclusion of a letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor.

Selection is based upon financial need, scholastic achievement, SAT scores, personal traits of character and leadership and the length and quality of participation in the youth soccer program.
