If fields are open and/or play is in progress game officials, division managers, coaches, parent managers or trainers have the ability to halt play. Thunder and/or lightning are grounds for immediate suspension of play."
If a practice is cancelled midway please pick up your player promptly.
Additional Note: "Southside field will open for play today, Tuesday (9/2) @ 4:30 pm... while many finishing details including the restrooms, bleachers, playground, final paved parking, lighting and landscaping will not be completed for the next month or so, the township wanted to get the SPFSA on as soon as possible... because this represents a major investment that was not well received in all quarters of town it is imperative that the SPFSA follow the unique rules that come with all turf fields for their proper care and maintenance... first and foremost is the necessary banning of all soda, juices and sugar based sports drinks from the field... good old H2O should be used for hydration and will not cause any damage or stickiness to the field... likewise chewing gum and snack food items cannot be allowed @ any turf facility... also, coaches and trainers are asked not to move the goal frames from their natural position until a wheel assembly kit is installed for easy portability... other rules that are in place @ all of our fields are equally important here including no dogs, no bicycle riding, no smoking and absolutely no consumption of alcoholic beverages... because of the field’s location adjacent to the fire station it is also imperative for all visitors to use the newly built parking area, leaving the specially designated parking areas for our township’s volunteer firemen... and finally, the recreation department has consulted w/ many other communities that have completed turf fields and have followed their advice regarding spectators... parents, siblings and friends are asked to watch all soccer activity from the bleachers or to set up their chairs on the perimeter walkway just outside of the turf surface... Southside is a huge accomplishment for the township and the SPFSA... we trust that our membership will enjoy it immensely and observe all rules designed for safety and field longevity... thanks" - Jim Fawcett, President, SPFSA
