HAWKS ARE ALL HEART

 HAWKS ARE ALL HEART

After a physical battle and ultimate win over Bridgewater Avalanche on Mother’s Day, the Hawks regrouped with major injuries including a goalie with a concussion and a few players with leg injuries.  Despite their bench of injuries, the Hawks moved forward as they always do, to battle with the Berkeley Heights Blue Thunder.  With only 11 able to play, the Hawks fought with all their strength - sometimes on the field with only 10.  They might have lost the game, but their comittment to one another and their ability to persevere was evident to all.  Over the years, these girls have grown together and under the direction of their fabulous coaching staff they have learned more than just soccer, but how important it is to take care of each other and Keep going . . . no matter what.

Welcome to the Home of the U-12G SPF Hawks

November 8th . . .

Hawks Fight Hard With Hazlet.

On a beautiful 70 degree, November day, with fall foliage all around, the Hawks fought with all their hearts against Hazlet.  The Hawks dominated play in the first half, but Hazlet picked up speed in the second half and managed to get one in the net to win the game.  Final score Hazlet 1, Hawks 0.  Despite the end result, the Hawks should be proud - they played great!!

Go Hawks!!!  Go Hawks!!!  Go Hawks!!!  Go Hawks!!!!

HAWKS TIE WESTFIELD IN AN EARLY MORNING GAME!

Terrific team work, defense, and offensive moves were the key to this exciting game.  Hawks played their game!

Go Hawks!!  Go Hawks!!!  Go Hawks!!!  Go Hawks!!!  Go Hawks!!!

Rain, mud, and flooded fields have slowed the Hawks season with cancelled games and practices.  Yet one wet, wet day, they took home 2nd place trophies at the Mount Olive Halloween Tournament!  Now . . . on to some sun dances and sun salutations as we NEED to play this weekend - Game time 4:45pm at VoTech vs. Westfield!

OCTOBER 3, 2009 . . . HAWKS BATTLE HARD IN THEIR STATE CUP MATCH, BUT FALL TO LAST YEAR’S 2ND PLACE TEAM, THE JACKSON PRIDE.

We are very proud of you Hawks.  You never gave up - you fought until the end - you gave it your all.  What a great experience - your first step into the New Jersey State Cup.  Until next year . . .

Big Game tomorrow as the Hawks take on Hazlet Spirit (always an exciting match-up)!!!!!

HAWKS FLY HIGH ABOVE THE HEAT.

The Hawks traveled to their neighbors’ home turf to battle once again with the Westfield Heat on Sunday, September 27, 2009.  Friendly rivals, Westfield and Scotch Plains always enjoy a match-up and the bragging rights that come after a win.  Both teams showed up for the game ready for action.  Despite the strange weather - rain, clouds, sun, rain, clouds, sun . . . both teams battled to the end.  The Hawks kicked in an early goal and the fans held their breath as the strong Hawks’ defense kept the Heat away.  The Hawks flew away with the much deserved win!  Great game Hawks!!

MNJYSA record:  1 win, 1 tie, 1 loss

On to state cup next weekend!  Go Hawks!!!  Go Hawks!!!  Go Hawks!!!!

Spf Hawks battle through a tie with Milburn Sting.

The SPF Hawks began the weekend with a battle on the grounds of Milburn High School.  Two very equally matched teams struggled to maintain control of the ball.  The Hawks led early (1-0) until the Sting managed two goals in a row.  With less than a minute to play, the Hawks regrouped with a fast break and goal to tie the game.

Go Hawks!!  Go Hawks!!!  Go Hawks!!!!
