Practice Field Request Procedures Explained in Sidebar Link.
Teams may only use the approved fields upon which the SPFSA has received permission to play and/or practice, effective April 5th through June 30th. Teams may not use any other field, public lawn, private backyard, detention basin, etc. as the SPFSA is not insured in these instances.

Coaches, trainers and parent managers are strictly prohibited from acting as individual agents in order to solicit playing areas from any municipality or Board of Education.

Coaches, trainers and parent managers are expected to honor the agreements that the SPFSA has made with the Township of Scotch Plains, the Borough of Fanwood and the Board of Education, including any restrictions on days and times due to weather conditions and by ages and divisions as detailed in the practice schedule. Please contact Sean Murphy, VP Operations, for any further clarification. The SPFSA sincerely appreciates everyone’s cooperation. Thank you.

Ball Field Hotline Number @ 908-322-6700-1-226
If in Doubt, Please Check It Out
Coaches are expected to check the hotline in the event of inclement weather or if prior rains have resulted in wet grounds. The hotline is updated by 3:00 pm on weekdays and by 7:00 am on weekends by Scotch Plains Parks and Recreation. Field jurisdiction and the SPFSA field closing policy is detailed in the Field Information link.
Important Safety Reminder
Thunder & Lightning Warrants Immediate Shutdown
Coaches, players and parents are reminded that the first sign of thunder or lightning mandates that all soccer activity be shutdown. Participants should find shelter in buildings or motor vehicles and remain there for at least 15 minutes beyond the last rumble of thunder or final bolt of lightning. There are no exceptions to this rule. Our field partners and our insurer expect  this safety policy to be honored at all times.
Please Practice Good Field Courtesy
Litter and Dogs are Consistent Offenses
The Municipalities of Scotch Plains and Fanwood and the BOE remind parents, players and coaches that dogs are absolutely prohibited from all fields and parks. They also request that all litter and water bottles be put in receptacles at the end of games and practices. Smoking and the consumption of alcohol is also strictly prohibited.
