The Scotch Plains-Fanwood communities are located in the north central part of New Jersey at the western edge of Union County and along the Route 22 corridor about 15 miles southwest of Newark and 15 miles northeast of Somerville. Neighboring towns include Westfield, Clark, Edison, Plainfield, Watchung and Berkeley Heights.

 

The area is easily accessed by Route 78 @ exit 141 or the Garden State Parkway @ exit 135. Directions to all fields in the sidebar links are from Route 78, Route 22 and the Garden State Parkway. In addition, all field directions include street addresses to allow for the use of GPS.

Visitors are reminded that the Township of Scotch Plains, the Borough of Fanwood and the Scotch Plains Fanwood Board of Education expressly prohibit dogs from being brought to any field or park. They also request any litter or water bottles be put in the appropriate trash receptacles. Smoking and the consumption of alcohol is also prohibited.

 

Some of these fields do not have rest facilities, so we encourage our visitors to utilize commercial establishments along the major thoroughfares. We regret that inconvenience, but appreciate your cooperation and hope you enjoy your visit.
